Manuela Benaim is an artist who cannot be pigeonholed. From exploring clothing made with mushrooms to synthetic skins and performance art, her work is constantly pushing boundaries. We went to a park after just a few days of knowing each other, and she opened the door to her unique way of thinking and feeling about art with complete trust. During the photoshoot and our conversations, we experimented with the very personal way she cleans her skins, which are both representations of her art and her meticulousness in capturing those around her. Her interest in capturing even the smallest marks on her models drew me in, and I believe her essence and connection to her art were captured on these rolls of Kodak Gold film, with my silent companion, the Mamiya RB67.
